BR nips Ridgefield Christian

The Black Rock senior boys, led by Tadd Fore with 21 points, defeated Ridgefield Christian 48-42 Friday night in Jonesboro.

Hunter Horton added 12 points for the Zebras, who led 19-16 at the half and 29-25 after three quarters of play.

The junior Zebras struggled against Ridgefield Christian posting a 50-27 loss.

In junior girls action, Ridgefield Christian overcame the Lady Zebras 35-21.


The Zebras defeated Crowley's Ridge Academy 64-41 in senior boys action on Jan. 19 at Black Rock.

Joe Paul Carey was the leading scorer for the Zebras with 22 points. Khris Foster had 15 points, and Fore added 10.

Black Rock led 18-13 after the first quarter and continued to pull away 35-23 at the half and 47-29 entering the final quarter.

The senior Lady Zebras fell to CRA 45-39. Amy Galbreath led Black Rock with 18 points and seven rebounds. Teri Aden contributed 10 points and 20 rebounds for the Lady Zebras.

In junior boys action, the Zebras came up short 45-26 against CRA.

Ridgefield Christian

Black Rock also faced Ridgefield Christian on Jan. 18 at Black Rock with the Zebras posting a 87-60 victory.

The Zebras completed a 26-3 run in the second quarter to take a comfortable 45-21 lead at the half.

Foster was the leading Black Rock scorer with 23 points, followed by Fore with 21. Carey added 16 points, and Tyler Roby scored 10.

The junior Zebras came up short dropping their game 43-25.

In junior girls action, Ridgefield Christian recorded a 35-26 win over Black Rock.
