Bobcats rally to beat Cedar Ridge

The Walnut Ridge senior boys outlasted Cedar Ridge going on a 13-6 run in the final quarter to post a 52-50 win on Friday.

Walnut Ridge had led 16-12 at the end of the first quarter before falling behind 31-28 at the half and 44-39 at the end of the third period.

The Cats were led by Chris Dickson with 18 points. Bennett Dudley added 14.

In senior girls action, the Lady Bobcats fell to Cedar Ridge 62-42.

Alivia Hackworth scored 18 points to lead Walnut Ridge, and Daniel Vaughn added 10.

The junior Cats posted a 30-28 win over Cedar Ridge, while the Lady Timberwolves prevailed in the junior girls game, 43-20.

Maynard

Dudley recorded 28 points to lead Walnut Ridge to a 59-54 win at Maynard on Jan. 19. Derek Medlock added 12 points for the Cats, who were up 34-26 at the half and 53-39 after three quarters.

The senior girls defeated Maynard 56-45 behind the scoring effots of Hackworth and Ashley Baker, who combined for 41 points.

Hackworth contributed 22 points, and Baker scored 19.

The junior girls completed the sweep defeating Maynard 44-23.

Both junior high teams also posted wins over Maynard on Thursday with the girls winning 38-23 and the boys earning a 55-27 victory.
