announces retirement

After serving Arkansas's First Congressional District for seven terms, Congressman Marion Berry has announced that he will not seek reelection in 2010.

State association honors Rogers

State Rep. J.R. Rogers of Walnut Ridge has been honored by the Arkansas Fair Managers Association. He was named recipient of the Hall of Fame Award. Only one person is given the award per year in the state.

Ratliff announces
run for state rep.

On Thursday, lifetime Lawrence County resident James Ratliff of Imboden formally announced that he will run as a Democrat for state representative of District 73.

Manus lives to the extreme

Living life to the extreme is an understatement for Carl Manus of Sun Valley, Idaho. At the age of 79, Manus can be found snowboarding down Bald Mountain's long, narrow, rigid slopes at speeds topping 40 mph.
