Walnut Ridge Fire Department personnel (from left) firefighter Quentin Cato, Captain Chris Jones and Assistant Chief Carl White stretch an extension cord to a ventilation fan to remove smoke from the building. The fire caused smoke damage to the restaurant's vent hood and pipe system. According to Alan Haskins, fire chief, China Buffet can re-open after the building is inspected for a pressure and plumbing check. Christmas miracle arrives on Dec. 22 for Carrie Mae Snapp Miracles come in many shapes and forms and usually when you least expect them. Carrie Mae Snapp of Walnut Ridge received a miracle when she underwent a kidney transplant on Dec. 22. She calls it a Christmas miracle, a very special gift. It is even more miraculous because she is the first ovarian cancer survivor to receive a transplant. continued...
