Hoxie teams
compete in
Kell Classic

Hoxie's senior high boys and girls basketball teams began play in the Kell Classic on Saturday at Swifton.
The senior boys used a second-half surge to defeat Crowley's Ridge Academy 71-54.
The contest was close throughout the first half, with CRA holding leads of 22-21 after one quarter and 38-37 at halftime. CRA was led by A.J. McCoy, who scored 25 of his game-high 32 points in the opening half.
The Falcons stretched their advantage to 45-37 midway through the third quarter, before Hoxie went on a 34-9 run to win.
Coy Yasler led the Mustangs with 25 points. Cade Crisler had 17 points, six rebounds and five assists. Zach Crisler had 16 points and 12 assists, and Devin Roberts finished with four points and four rebounds.
Senior girls
Hoxie's Lady Mustangs opened tournament play with a commanding 47-31 victory over Southside.
Hoxie led 13-7 after one quarter, 29-12 at halftime and 42-18 at the end of the third period.
Tanya Sisco paced the Lady Mustangs with 16 points. Autumn Nelson had seven points, and Karina Mashburn added six. Cayley Rosson had five points and five rebounds, while Neely Ragsdell finished with four points and seven rebounds. Alyssa McConnell scored four points. Chasity Becker had three points, and Kelsey Lewis added two.
