Other appointed representatives include: Debbie Spangler, chaplain; Debbie Smith, financial adviser; Junior Briner, adviser to the Chamber; and Terry Lambert, representative to the Intermodal Authority.

In addition, a new committee is the Walnut Ridge Merchant's Committee. The group will work in conjunction with the Downtown Walnut Ridge Organization and will be led by Debbie Smith.

Whitmire said other communities can notify her if they would like to have a committee formed under the Chamber of Commerce to help with local projects.

"We want to work with the individual cities to help them reach their goals and hopefully have them become more involved in the Chamber," Whitmire said.

She said she is looking forward to working with the board, elected officials and community members in 2010.

"We are looking forward to working with our existing industries and businesses to maintain jobs in Lawrence County," she said. "As always, we will be looking for opportunities to add new industries and businesses."
