Hoxie girls suffer lossesNathan Hibbard
The Hoxie Lady Mustangs traveled to Earle to take on the Lady Bulldogs in 3A-3 conference basketball action on Thursday.
Earle led 15-8 after the first quarter, 35-21 at halftime and 46-36 after three quarters en route to a 67-51 victory over the Lady Mustangs.
Tanya Sisco led Hoxie with 17 points. Karina Mashburn had nine points, and Alyssa McConnell added seven. Chasity Becker and Autumn Nelson each scored six points. Cayley Rosson had four points, and Kelsey Lewis added two.
In a junior high contest, Earle defeated the junior Lady Mustangs 47-26.
Earle jumped out to a 16-4 first-quarter lead and went on to lead 23-11 at halftime and 37-18 at the end of the third quarter.
Hoxie was led by Brandy Alls with seven points. Kayla Ward had six points and five rebounds, and Maddison Woodard added six points. Krista Coffell finished with four points. Courtney Sears had two points and five rebounds, and Morgan Woodard added one point.
The Lady Mustangs dropped a 56-41 decision at Corning on Dec. 14.
Mashburn had nine points, and Sisco added eight for the Lady Mustangs. Rosson scored six points, and McConnell had four. Jennifer Alls, Becker and Nelson each scored three points. Leslee Parrish and Lewis had two points apiece.
The Corning junior high girls edged Hoxie 27-26.
Woodard led the junior Lady Mustangs with 12 points. Coffell finished with five points, and Ward added four. Courtney Rice had three points, and Brandy Alls had two. Amanda Moskop, Coffell and Ward each had four rebounds.
