The Lawrence County Cooperative School in Portia held its annual Christmas party on Dec. 16.
The Kiwanis Club partners with the school each year to help host the event and provides gifts for both students and adult clients.
"It's a wonderful event," Lisa Davis, director of the school, said. "The kids and individuals look so forward to it every year."
Hoxie approves budget
On Tuesday, December 8, the Hoxie City Council passed an ordinance adopting the 2010 budget. The high cost of repairs to the two sanitation trucks during 2009 was reviewed during the budget conversation.
Price helps spread Christmas cheer
While everyone spreads Christmas cheer in their own special way, Theresa Price of Hoxie traveled more than 5,000 miles to deliver Christmas to needy children in Africa.
Hoxie PD to
Congress has approved $50,000 for the Hoxie Police Department as part of an appropriations package.
