Walnut Ridge's John-Scott Kelley guards Black Rock's Khris Foster in the quarterfinals of the Williams Baptist College Invitational Tournament. The Zebras won the game, 50-40, and went on to win the tournament championship.

BR boys win WBC
Black Rock's Tyler Newell sank a three-pointer from 30 feet away as time expired to lift the Zebras to a 42-41 victory over the Viola Longhorns in the championship game of the boys bracket of the Williams Baptist College Tournament on Saturday night.
Joe Paul Carey led Black Rock in scoring with 12 points. Newell finished with 10 points, and Hunter Horton scored nine points.
WR teams sweep S-H
Walnut Ridge hosted Sloan-Hendrix in 2A-2 basketball action on Nov. 30.
The Walnut Ridge senior boys pulled away in the fourth quarter to defeat the Greyhounds 40-27.
Hoxie beats Tuckerman
IThe Hoxie Mustangs won a pair of basketball games at Tuckerman on Dec. 1.
Cade Crisler scored 26 points, and Coy Yasler added 23, as the senior high boys defeated the Bulldogs 76-40.
BR splits with ICC
The Black Rock Zebras defeated Izard County Consolidated 55-38 in senior boys basketball on Nov. 30 at Brockwell.
Joe Paul Carey led the Zebras with 25 points, five rebounds and six steals.
Hillcrest teams see action
The Hillcrest junior high basketball teams competed in the Melbourne Junior High Tournament on Saturday at Melbourne.
The Hillcrest junior boys opened the tournament with a 46-40 win over Salem.
