Congratulations to those groups and individuals who have been involved in the formation of the Northeast Arkansas Regional Water Authority. This is a huge project and has taken much planning, effort and forward-thinking. Ground was broken Friday at the site of a future water treatment plant on Hwy. 361, just over the Spring River bridge in Randolph County, near Black Rock. (See front-page story.) A.J. Henry of Walnut Ridge, chairman of the NEA Public Water Authority, said planning work on the $10 million project to get to this point began in 2001. |
