Lady Mustangs beat TuckermanNathan Hibbard
Tanya Sisco scored 20 points to lead Hoxie's Lady Mustangs to a 59-43 victory over Tuckerman in senior girls basketball Thursday at Hoxie.
The Lady Mustangs led 12-6 at the end of the first quarter, 28-19 at halftime and 53-37 after three quarters.
Also for Hoxie, Alyssa McConnell had 12 points. Neely Ragsdell and Cayley Rosson had eight points each, and Kelsey Lewis added seven. Chasity Becker scored three points, and Karina Mashburn had one point.
In junior high action, Hoxie defeated Tuckerman 58-37.
Hoxie led 15-7 after one quarter, 34-16 at halftime and 47-31 at the end of the third period.
Maddison Woodard led the junior Lady Mustangs with 13 points, while Amanda Moskop added 10. Brandy Alls scored nine points. Courtney Rice and Kayla Ward each had six points. Sarah Manis scored five points, and Krista Coffell had four. Morgan Woodard had three points, and Courtney Sears added two.
The Hoxie girls traveled to Harrisburg on Nov. 16, with the Lady Hornets holding off the Lady Mustangs for a 55-53 win in senior high action.
Harrisburg jumped out to a 16-4 first-quarter advantage, before Hoxie cut the deficit to 26-19 at halftime. The Lady Mustangs continued to cut into Harrisburg's lead in the second half and trailed only 36-32 entering the final period. Hoxie outscored the Lady Hornet 21-19 in the fourth quarter, but it wasn't enough, as Harrisburg held on for the two-point win.
Sisco led Hoxie with 20 points and six rebounds. Mashburn and Lewis each scored eight points. Autumn Nelson had six points, and McConnell scored four. Becker had three points, and Rosson and Ragsdell each added two points.
Harrisburg won the junior high game 32-25.
Hoxie led 12-7 at the end of the first quarter, but the junior Lady Hornets came back in the second period to hold a 16-14 halftime advantage. Harrisburg extended their lead to 24-17 at the end of the third quarter and held off the junior Lady Mustangs in the final period to take the win.
Manis, Coffell and Woodard each scored five points for Hoxie. Rice had four points. Moskop and Ward scored three points apiece.
