Hoxie girls fall to EarleNathan HibbardStaff Writer The Earle Lady Bulldogs defeated Hoxie 48-41 in the Lady Mustangs basketball season opener Thursday night at Hicks Gymnasium. Earle led 11-4 at the end of the first quarter and 31-26 at halftime. Tanya Sisco and Alyssa McConnell each scored 13 points to lead Hoxie. Karina Mashburn and Kelsey Lewis had four points apiece. Cayley Rosson, Neely Ragsdell and Leslee Parrish each scored two points, and Chasity Becker had one point.
In junior girls action, Earle jumped to an early lead en route to a 43-33 win over the junior Lady Mustangs. Earle led 11-3 after one quarter and 21-8 at halftime. Hoxie cut Earle's lead to 29-21 after three quarters, but could not overcome the Bulldogs in the final period. Krista Coffell led Hoxie with 10 points, and Amanda Moskop added eight. Maddison Woodard had five points, and Sarah Manis added four. Courtney Rice had two points and five rebounds. Courtney Sears and Brandy Alls each scored two points.
