Clinic receives huge response

Kelley Whitmire administers a flu shot to Fred Hodge of Walnut Ridge during the mass flu clinic held on Thursday.

The mass flu clinic held at the Walnut Ridge Fire Department received an outstanding response from Lawrence County residents seeking free flu shots on Thursday.

Arkansas State University nursing students were on hand at the event administering the 560 flu shots available.

Resource Council needs volunteers

Since 1987 the Lawrence County Resource Council has been providing residents opportunities to respond to areas of need in of Lawrence County.

LHS Board approves creation
of new family visitation room

The Board of Governors for Lawrence Health Services approved the purchase of furniture to create a resident and family visitation room during its meeting on Oct. 26. The room will be located in Lawrence Hall Nursing Center.

Rainfall causes flooding

The heavy rains that fell last week brought flooding to the lowlands around Black River over the weekend and the river is still 10 feet above flood level at Black Rock.
