Hoxie beats Cave

The Hoxie senior high volleyball team concluded the 2009 regular season with 25-19, 18-25, 25-15, 25-21 victory at Cave City on Oct. 12.
Chasity Becker was 13-of-13 from the service line, with two aces, three digs, 14 kills, 20 assists and two blocks. Alyssa Coggins was 18-of-18 serving, with eight digs, four kills and a block, and Shayla Coats had eight digs. Erika Manis was 14-of-14 serving, with seven aces and two assists.
Kelsey Lewis was 12-of-12 from the line, with 12 kills, three digs and three blocks. Brianna Liscomb had 16 kills and four blocks. Kassie Teel had four kills, a dig and an assist. Amanda Whaley was 15-of-15 serving, with four digs, five kills and 18 assists.
Hoxie ended the regular season with a 14-12 overall record and finished fifth in the 3A-Northeast Conference with a 7-7 league record.
