Lady Mustangs play well
at Harrisburg tournament

The Hoxie Lady Mustangs volleyball team participated in the Hornet Classic at Harrisburg on Saturday.

Gold tournament

The Lady Mustangs went undefeated in pool play and were the top seed in the Gold Tournament, receiving a bye to the semifinals.

Hoxie advanced to the finals of the Gold tournament by defeating Cave City 25-15, 25-15 in the semifinals.

Chasity Becker had four digs, six kills and eight assists. Alyssa Coggins had three digs, seven kills and a block. Shayla Coats was 15-of-15 from the service line, with three aces, four digs and an assist.

Kelsey Lewis had two digs, a kill and a block. Brianna Liscomb had six kills and a block. Kassie Teel had two kills, a dig and a block. Erika Manis had five digs, and Amanda Whaley had 12 assists.

The Lady Mustangs faced Trumann for the championship and suffered their first loss of the day, falling to the Lady Wildcats 20-25, 17-25.

Becker had five kills, five assists and a block. Coggins had two digs and four kills. Lewis had three digs and two kills. Whaley had two kills and five assists, and Liscomb had two kills.

Pool play

Hoxie won all four of its matches in pool play without losing a game.

The Lady Mustangs opened with a 25-12, 25-16 victory over Batesville Southside.

Becker had seven kills, and Coggins added four. Coats had six digs, and Manis had three. Lewis finished with four kills, three assists and a block. Liscomb had four kills and two blocks. Whaley was 17-of-17 serving, with five aces and 12 assists.

Hoxie defeated West Memphis 25-12, 25-20 for their second victory in pool play.

Becker had seven aces, two kills and five assists. Manis and Coggins had three digs apiece. Lewis had four kills. Liscomb had five kills and two blocks, and Whaley had two aces and three assists.

In their third match of pool play, the Lady Mustangs defeated Trumann 25-12, 25-21.

Becker had four aces, two kills, 10 assists and two blocks. Coggins was 10-of-10 serving, with an ace, two digs and three kills. Lewis had four digs, two blocks and a kill. Liscomb had seven kills and two blocks. Whaley had five assists and three kills.

Hoxie concluded pool play by defeating Cedar Ridge 25-16, 25-9.

Becker finished with eight kills and seven assists. Coggins had six kills, and Lewis recorded five. Whaley had nine assists and a kill, and Teel had two kills. Liscomb had five kills.
