Lady Cats fall to BrooklandNathan HibbardStaff Writer The Walnut Ridge Lady Bobcats hosted Brookland in high school volleyball action on Sept. 28. The senior Lady Cats fell to Brookland 18-25, 18-25, 14-25. For Walnut Ridge, Josie Wagoner was seven-of-seven serving, with nine kills and eight digs. Regan Jean was eight-of-eight serving, with a kill and six digs. Emily Holder was seven-of-nine from the service line, with two aces and had nine assists and two digs. Amanda Emison was seven-of-seven from the line, with three aces, five kills and nine digs. Ashley Baker was 11-of-12 serving, with 12 digs and a kill. Ashton Lawson was three-of-four serving, with four assists, a dig and a kill. Katie Lewis had seven kills and three blocks. Brookland also won a senior high B match 25-17, the junior high match 25-13, 25-23 and a seventh-grade match 22-15, 23-17. Walnut Ridge won a junior high B match 26-24.
Walnut Ridge played Crowley's Ridge Academy in the Dig Pink match on Sept. 25 at Paragould. CRA defeated the Lady Cats 25-9, 25-18, 25-17. Wagoner was 10-of-12 serving, with two aces, three assists, two kills and nine digs. Jean was four-of-four serving, with four digs and a kill. Holder was three-of-five serving, with an ace, three assists and two digs. Emison was six-of-seven from the line, with four kills and three digs. Baker was 11-of-11 serving, with an ace and had four digs. Lawson was three-of-four serving, with six assists, two kills and six digs. Lewis had four kills and four blocks. Daniel Vaughn had six kills and two blocks, and Christin Holsapple had a kill. CRA won the junior high match 25-15, 25-19. Ashlyn Cothern was five-of-eight serving, with two aces, three kills and two digs. Sabrina Knight was eight-of-eight serving, with two aces, four assists and a dig. Anna Bland was six-of-seven from the service line, with an ace, four digs and a kill. Hannah Massey was five-of-five serving and had 11 digs. Caroline Kelley was four-of-four serving, with an ace, a kill and three digs. Raven Dobbs was two-of-three from the line and had five digs.
