Hoxie sweeps WR in volleyball

Hoxie swept Walnut Ridge in a senior high volleyball match on Sept. 24 at Walnut Ridge's Sharum Gymnasium. Scores of the three games were 25-19, 25-20, 25-13. For Hoxie, Chasity Becker had 10 kills, 10 assists and a block. Alyssa Coggins was 15-of-15 from the line and had five kills and three digs. Shayla Coats had five digs. Erika Manis had two aces and eight digs. Kelsey Lewis had two digs, eight kills, two assists and a block. Brianna Liscomb had seven kills. Kassie Teel had two digs and three kills. Amanda Whaley was 13-of-13 from the line, with two aces and 14 assists. For Walnut Ridge, Ashton Lawson was 10-of-11 serving, with three aces and eight assists. Amanda Emison was nine-of-nine from the line, with two aces, 10 kills and three digs. Katie Lewis had seven kills and three blocks.
Hoxie won the junior high contest 25-15, 25-22. For Hoxie, Maddison Woodard had six aces and five kills. Courtney Sears had three aces, two digs, five kills and two blocks. Sarah Manis had two kills and seven assists. Kayla Ward had two digs, a kill and an assist. Maria Fry had two digs. Grace Hall was six-of-six from the line, with two aces, and Madalyn Barker had an ace, a dig and an assist. For Walnut Ridge, Ashlyn Cothern had seven assists and four kills. Sabrina Knight was 10-of-10 serving, with three aces and five digs. Caroline Kelley was five-of-five serving, with three kills and four digs. Anna Bland was five-of-five from the line, with three kills and five digs. Hannah Massey was seven-of-seven serving, with two digs.
