Lady Mustangs split
games with Piggott
The Hoxie Lady Mustangs lost to Piggott in four games in a senior high volleyball match on Thursday at Piggott. Scores of the games were 12-25, 28-26, 23-25, 25-27.
For Hoxie, Chasity Becker had three digs, nine kills, eight assists and five blocks. Alyssa Coggins had two digs, two kills and a block. Shayla Coats was 10-of-11 serving and had 20 digs. Erika Manis was 18-of-18 from the line and had 15 digs. Kelsey Lewis was 12-of-12 serving, with 13 digs, four kills and three blocks. Kassie Teel had two digs and two kills, and Brianna Liscomb had four kills. Amanda Whaley was 17-of-17 serving and had 12 assists.
The junior Lady Mustangs rallied from a loss in the opening game to defeat Piggott 19-25, 25-23, 25-21.
Maddison Woodard had two kills and a block. Courtney Sears had four kills and an assist, and Sarah Manis had five assists. Kayla Ward was nine-of-10 serving, with three kills and an assist. Grace Hall was seven-of-seven from the line, with an assist. Madalyn Barker was 14-of-14 from the line, with two aces.
The Lady Mustangs swept Ridgefield Christian in senior high volleyball action on Sept. 15 at Hicks Gymnasium. Scores of the three games were 25-7, 25-6, 25-10.
Becker had six aces, two digs and six kills, and Coggins had two kills. Erika Manis had three aces, three digs and a kill, and Coats had three digs. Lewis had four aces, three digs, three kills and two blocks, and Teel had five kills. Amanda Whaley had two aces and nine assists. Kelli Anglin had three kills, and Emily Freer had a dig. Brittany Henson was three-for-four serving, with one ace.
The Hoxie junior high team lost a hard-fought three-set match to Ridgefield Christian 25-15, 22-25, 22-25.
Woodard was 17-of-17 serving, with three aces, three digs and four kills. Sears had six digs, three kills and two assists, and Barker had two digs. Sarah Manis had three digs and four assists, and Ward had four kills. Maria Fry had three digs, and Hall was 10-of-10 serving.
The senior Lady Mustangs dropped a five-game match at Harrisburg on Sept. 14. Scores were 25-18, 23-25, 25-18, 23-25, 8-15.
Becker had nine kills, 12 assists and three blocks. Coggins was 27-of-27 serving and had four digs and seven kills. Coats had two digs and two assists, and Erika Manis had 12 digs. Lewis had seven digs, six kills and two blocks. Liscomb had five kills and two blocks. Teel had three kills and an assist. Whaley was 12-of-12 from the line, with two kills and 18 assists.
