Booths available for WR festival

Planning continues for the annual Iron Mountain Festival, which will be held Oct. 24 in downtown Walnut Ridge.

The festival committee is accepting reservations for booth space at this time. Vendors, non-profits, community organizations, churches, school groups, etc. are encouraged to participate in the event.

Information only booths are available for free, and those wishing to sell products or raise money can reserve a booth for $40. Electricity can be added for $15, but is limited and will be awarded on a first-come basis.

A booth is approximately the size of a parking space, and vendors and groups must provide their own tables and chairs.

The event, which is sponsored by the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Walnut Ridge organization, will feature live entertainment, activities for children, a duck-calling contest, an art exhibition and more.

Anyone interested in serving on the committee or assisting with the festival in anyway is invited to a planning meeting today at noon at the Chamber office.

Those interested in reserving a booth may do so by calling Kathy Bradley at the Chamber at 886-3232 or Lorra Whitmire at First National Bank at 886-5959.

Anyone interested in participating but needing ideas for fund-raisers or booth themes can contact Debbie Smith at 886-2772 or Kelly Aaron at 886-8911 or 870-759-2400.
