Crisler wins photo contestJustin Ryan Crisler of Hoxie has won best of show honor in The Times Dispatch's annual Summertime Photo Contest with a photo that also won first place in the Expressions of Summer category.The contest had a total of 365 entries, which were judged in 11 categories by Arkansas State University's Ernie Rice, photo technician/photographer, Dr. Jack Zibluk, associate professor of journalism and Kandi Poirier, a photojournalism student and photographer. Other winners in the Expressions of Summer category were: second place, Terry Van Doyle of Walnut Ridge; third place, Lori Morse of Walnut Ridge. Those winning in other categories were: Wet & Wild - first place, Ginger Bibb of Walnut Ridge; second place, Heather Nunnally of Smithville; third place, Deedee Shaw of Walnut Ridge. All Creatures - first place, Dylan Hare of Powhatan; second place, Carol Lay of Springfield, Mo.; and Stephanie Anderson of Walnut Ridge. Summer Swims- first place, Stephanie Anderson of Walnut Ridge; second place Cheryl Englert of Hoxie; third place, Heath Hager of Cabot. Summer Snacks- first place, Dr. Terry Van Doyle of Walnut Ridge; second place, Susan Doyle of Walnut Ridge; third place, Jeff Franks of Walnut Ridge. Sand & Surf - first place, Wendell McCormic of Portia; second place, Heather McQuay of Hoxie; third place, Rick Myers of Hoxie. People & Pets- first place, Natalie Lovelady of Walnut Ridge; second place, Heather Nunnally of Smithville; third place, Joleen Flack of Walnut Ridge.
