Strawberry man killed in accident

A two-vehicle accident in Independence County on Monday resulted in the death of a Strawberry man, according to Trooper Jeremy Page of the Arkansas State Police.

Calvin G. Richey, 52, was killed in the accident, which involved the 1999 Harley Davidson he was riding and a 1994 Chrysler Lebaron, driven by Danny Day of Desha.

The accident occurred at 12:55 p.m. on Highway 25, near the intersection with Watson Road. The motorcycle was traveling eastbound on the highway, and the Chrysler was traveling westbound. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.

The report states that Richey was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. Day and his two passengers, Scott Freeman and Charlotte Freeman, both of Cave City, were not injured in the accident.
