Hillcrest's Marcus Huskey slides into base during the Screamin' Eagles' 15-1 victory over Rural Special in the first round of their regional tournament on April 25. Hillcrest advanced all the way to the finals, where they lost to Viola to finish as runners-up.

The Hillcrest Screamin' Eagles advanced to the state tournament as runners-up in the 1A Region 2 Baseball Tournament. They lost to Viola 4-1 in the finals on April 28. The games were rained out at Viola and moved to Brockwell, where the girls games were played.

The Screamin' Eagles defeated Norfork in the semifinals of the tournament on April 27 at Viola.

Jordan Hunter and Derek Wooten each had two hits, and Dylan Wooten had a home run for Hillcrest.

Dylan Wooten was also the winning pitcher, allowing three runs on four hits in four innings of work.

Hillcrest ~ Rural Special

Hillcrest defeated Rural Special 15-1 in the regional tournament on April 25.

Hunter had two doubles and scored three runs for the Eagles, and Derek Wooten had two hits and three RBIs. Dylan Wooten, Marcus Huskey, Kyle Bristow, Trevor Morgan and Michael Spain also had hits.
