Hoxie honor grads named
Hoxie High School Principal Jim McMullen has announced honor graduates for 2009.
Brooke French is this year's valedictorian.
French is the daughter of Mike and Becky French of Walnut Ridge. She plans to attend Black River Technical College and study nursing.
Co-salutatorians are Eli Harper and Justin Weitkamp.
Harper, who plans to attend Arkansas State University as a pre-med student, is the son of Susan Harper of Sedgwick and the late Ethan Harper.
Weitkamp is the son of Billy and Melissa Weitkamp of O'Kean and plans to study criminology at BRTC.
Hoxie's high honor graduates are Kera Flippo, Whitlee Parrish, Raven Gates and Amanda Midgett.
Flippo, daughter of Charlotte Flippo of Hoxie and Gary Flippo of Walnut Ridge, plans to be a pre-pharmacy student at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.
Parrish, who plans to attend Williams Baptist College, is the daughter of Shawn and Angie Parrish of Hoxie.
Gates is the daughter of Wesley and Tracy Gates of Hoxie. She plans to attend the University of Central Arkansas.
Midgett plans to study social work and psychology at WBC. She is the daughter of Edward and Kathy Midgett.
Additional HHS honor graduates are Cody Harper, Laura Beltran, Chris VanBrook, Adam Inman and Erin Strong.
Harper is the son of David and Sandi Harper of Hoxie and plans to study biology at BRTC.
Beltran, who plans to study nursing and photography at BRTC, is the granddaughter of Helen Wilburn of Hoxie and the daughter of Sandra Beltran of Memphis.
VanBrook plans to study theater at ASU and is the son of Mark and Paige VanBrook of Walnut Ridge.
Inman, son of Junior and Mary Stormes of Walnut Ridge, plans to major in music at ASU.
Strong is the daughter of Dana and Waynoma Strong of Hoxie. She plans to attend BRTC and major in business.
Hoxie High School's graduation will be May 14 at 7 p.m. at Robert Hicks Gymnasium.
