Lady Eagles beat S-H

The Hillcrest Lady Screamin' Eagles defeated Sloan-Hendrix 11-8 in high school softball action on April 6 at Imboden.
The game was tied 2-2 after one inning, before Hillcrest took a 3-2 lead with a run in the top of the second. The Lady Eagles added three runs in the third inning and five in the fourth to move out to an 11-3 lead.
A late rally by Sloan-Hendrix fell short, as the Lady Hounds scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth and three in the bottom of the fifth.
For Hillcrest, Kayla McBride batted 3-for-3 with two RBIs and scored a run. Breanna Doyle had a hit and scored three runs. Miranda Doyle had a hit, an RBI and scored three runs. Stevie Howard had an RBI and scored a run, and Samantha Blevins scored a run. Natalie Johnson had a hit and an RBI.
Blevins was the starting pitcher and allowed three runs on seven hits to earn the win. Johnson pitched the final two innings in relief, allowing five runs on six hits.
