Lady Cats fall to Tuckerman
Staff Writer Tuckerman's Lady Bulldogs defeated Walnut Ridge 11-1 in high school softball on Wednesday at Walnut Ridge. Alivia Hackworth took the loss for the Lady Bobcats, allowing 12 hits in six innings. She also registered six strikeouts. Josie Wagoner had two hits for Walnut Ridge. The Lady Bobcats fell to 10-9 on the season with the loss.
The Lady Bobcats rallied past Cedar Ridge 2-1 in the first game of a doubleheader on April 7 at Walnut Ridge. Trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the seventh inning, Walnut Ridge's Taylor Wagoner scored the tying run on Josie Wagoner's two-out hit to send the game to an extra inning. In the ninth inning, Josie Wagoner scored the winning run for the Lady Cats on a wild pitch. Hackworth, allowed just three hits, while striking out five to earn the complete-game win. Cedar Ridge captured the nightcap from Walnut Ridge 4-3 in nine innings. For Walnut Ridge, Brittney Dobbs had two hits and drove in two runs. Ashley Baker had two hits, and Taylor Wagoner had one RBI. Hackworth pitched a complete game for the Lady Cats, allowing five hits and striking out five.
The Midland Lady Mustangs defeated Walnut Ridge 11-1 in softball on April 6 at Pleasant Plains. Taylor Wagoner drove in the Lady Cats' run, and Britney Dobbs had a double.
