Izard County Consolidated earned a share of the 1A-2 East conference regular season softball title by defeating Hillcrest 16-2 on Wednesday at Strawberry.
The Viola Lady Longhorns scored seven runs in the first two innings and went on to defeat Hillcrest 8-2 in high school softball action on April 7 at Lynn.
Miranda Doyle had two hits for Hillcrest. Samantha Blevins added a hit and drove in both of the Lady Eagles' runs.
Blevins was the starting pitcher for Hillcrest and surrendered seven earned runs on five hits, while recording five strikeouts. Natalie Johnson pitched the final two innings in relief.
The Lady Screamin' Eagles made short work of Twin Rivers, scoring 14 runs in the first inning en route to a 17-0 three-inning win over the Lady Panthers on March 30 at Lynn.
For Hillcrest, Breanna Doyle batted 3-for-3 with two RBIs and scored three runs. Lauren Pickle went 3-for-3 with four RBIs and scored three runs. Miranda Doyle had two hits, two RBIs and scored three runs. Kelli Beasley added two hits, two RBIs and scored two runs. Johnson and Blevins had a hit, an RBI and scored two runs apiece. Stevie Howard and Makayla Nunnally each had a hit and scored a run apiece.
Blevins was the winning pitcher, registering seven strikeouts in three innings.
