Frankly speaking...As reported in last week's TD, The Children's Shelter must acquire enough funds to operate for one year, with an annual budget estimated at $239,000. While the shelter has two-thirds of the first year's budget at this time, the other third must be raised before state licensing requirements are met.We applaud the efforts of The Children's Shelter Board, and all those who have made donations and have worked so hard to raise funds. This has been a major undertaking and not one for the easily discouraged. continued...
