County tourneys are this weekend

The 2009 Lawrence County softball and baseball tournaments will take place on Friday and Saturday. The softball tournament will be held at Lynn, while the baseball tournament will take place at Strawberry.
Softball tournament
The softball tournament will use a double-elimination format.
Sloan-Hendrix and Hoxie will square off in Game 1 at 4 p.m. on Friday.
Hillcrest and Black Rock will meet in Game 2 at 5:30 p.m.
Walnut Ridge will play the winner of Game 1 at 7 p.m.
All remaining games will be played on Saturday, with the championship game scheduled for 7 p.m.
Baseball tournament
Hoxie and Black Rock will meet in the first game of the baseball tournament Friday at 4 p.m. at Strawberry. The winner will play Walnut Ridge in a semifinal contest at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
Hillcrest and Sloan-Hendrix will meet in the other semifinal at 3 p.m.
The championship game is scheduled for 5 p.m.
