Lady Cats defeat BR

The Walnut Ridge Lady Bobcats defeated Black Rock 10-0 in high school softball March 23 at Black Rock.

The Lady Cats scored three runs in the first inning, one in the third and six in the fifth.

Taylor Wagoner led Walnut Ridge at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBIs. Alivia Hackworth also batted 3-for-4, and Jessica Rudd went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Brittney Dobbs had two RBIs. Josie Wagoner, Amber Caldwell and Mackenzie Britton recorded one hit apiece.

Hackworth earned the pitching win, allowing just two hits and recording five strikeouts. The Lady Bobcats improved to 5-3 with the win.


The Lady Cats' game against Marmaduke on March 24 was called in the bottom of the third inning due to rain with Walnut Ridge leading 7-0.
