Kingston led 12-10 after one quarter, but broke the game open in the second period, outscoring Hillcrest 26-7, to take a 38-17 lead into halftime. The Kingston run was sparked by their defense, which forced several Hillcrest turnovers, and some hot three-point shooting. Kingston, the defending Class A state champions, hit 12 three pointers in the game.
Tamara Evans led Hillcrest with 10 points and five rebounds. Breanna Doyle added nine points, and Samantha Blevins scored eight. Natalie Johnson finished with seven points, and Lauren Pickle scored three points and pulled down nine rebounds. Miranda Doyle and Katelyn Hammock each scored one point.
