Walnut Ridge and Sloan-Hendrix competed in the 2A-2 District Basketball Tournament held last week at Walnut Ridge's Sharum Gymnasium.
Both the host Bobcats and Lady Bobcats were in action in Thursday's semifinals.
The Lady Cats were defeated by Cedar Ridge 69-48.
The game was close in the first half, with Cedar Ridge holding a 30-29 lead at halftime. The Lady Wolves took command in the second half, outscoring Walnut Ridge 39-19 in the final two periods to take the win.
Alivia Hackworth led the Lady Cats with 12 points, and Ashley Baker added 11.
The Melbourne Bearkatz defeated the Walnut Ridge boys 72-60.
Logan Gaither led Walnut Ridge with 13 points. Brandon Dawson and Bennett Dudley each had 12 points, while Wesley Davis added 10.
The Lady Bobcats used a second-half surge to down Cotter 62-57 on Tuesday to earn a spot in the semifinals.
Trailing 38-26 at halftime, Walnut Ridge outscored the Lady Warriors 20-5 in the third quarter to take 46-43 lead entering the final period.
The Lady Cats were led by Hackworth with 20 points and Baker with 17.
Wesley Davis poured in 31 points, as the Walnut Ridge boys advanced to the semifinals by routing Midland 87-61.
Brandon Dawson and Logan Gaither each had 13 points, and Bennett Dudley added 12 for the Cats.
The Cotter Lady Warriors defeated Sloan-Hendrix 58-35 on the tournament's opening night.
Cotter led 14-6 after one quarter, 19-14 at halftime and 36-21 at the end of the third period.
Kristin Belcher led the Lady Greyhounds with 11 points.
In a battle of Greyhounds, the Salem senior boys topped Sloan-Hendrix 71-56 on Monday at Walnut Ridge.
Salem trailed 15-13 after one quarter, but moved into a 27-23 lead at halftime and extended their lead to 49-36 entering the fourth quarter.
Chase DeJournett led Sloan-Hendrix with 19 points, including four three-pointers.
