Utilities update statusVivian HeylStaff Writer Craighead Electric personnel continue to work long hours to restore electricity to Lawrence County. On Tuesday linemen were working on restoring power along Highway 412 from Walnut Ridge to Portia, as well as in other areas. Monty Williams of Craighead Electric said the current weather situation is not helping the effort as winds are blowing broken limbs into the power lines and the saturated ground is making it difficult to maneuver the trucks into place. "The linemen will continue to work even through the rain," he said. "The only time they will stop is for a severe storm with lightning or high winds." The company posts their daily work schedule on their website at www.cecc-ark.com.
