COMMUNITY WELCOMES NEW LHS PRESIDENT - Dr. Ralph and Billie Joseph (from left) visit with Terry and Alicia Lambert at a reception held in the Lamberts' honor on Friday at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital. Terry Lambert, a native of Corinth, Miss., is the new president of Lawrence Health Services and began his duties on Jan. 5. The Lamberts have moved to Walnut Ridge, while their son, Clay, is a student at Emporia State University in Emporia, Kans., and their daughter, Cole Gilbert, lives in New Orleans with husband, Chad, and daughter, Ava.

Ice storm hits
Lawrence County
and North Arkansas

The National Weather Service had issued the ice storm warnings in plenty of time, but accepting the magnitude of the storm was difficult for most to conceive until the ice storm of 2009 had arrived.

Body recovered near Clover Bend,
two suspects arrested

The body of a Randolph County man was found in Black River, near Clover Bend, Saturday by the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department. The death was caused by foul play.

Tremor centered here

Many Lawrence Countyresidents were startled awake in the early morning hours on Monday by a series of micro earthquakes that began at approximately 1:38 a.m. The United States Geological Survey reported that the three earthquake’s epicenter was in the Walnut Ridge and Hoxie area.
