Hoxie girls drop games

Corning jumped out to a 24-5 first-quarter lead and went on to defeat Hoxie's Lady Mustangs 72-58 in senior girls basketball Thursday night at Hoxie.

The Lady Mustangs were led by Whitlee Parrish with 17 points. Kelce Misner had 12 points, and Alyssa McConnell added 11.

The loss dropped the Lady Mustangs to 5-5 in 3A-3 conference play and 6-7 overall.


Tuckerman's Lady Bulldogs outscored Hoxie 21-8 in the fourth quarter to break open a close game and defeat the Lady Mustangs 68-55 in senior girls basketball Jan. 12 at Hoxie.

The teams were tied 31-31 at halftime and 47-47 entering the final period.

Hoxie was led by Brooke French with 12 points, followed by Raven Gates with 11. Misner and Tanya Sisco each scored 10 for the Lady Mustangs.
