Walnut Ridge hosted Sloan-Hendrix for basketball homecoming Friday night at Sharum Gymnasium. The Bobcats entertained the home crowd, winning three games against the Greyhounds.
The Walnut Ridge Lady Bobcats needed a second-half rally to slip past Sloan-Hendrix 52-48 in the senior girls contest.
The Lady Greyhounds led 20-7 after the first quarter and 29-18 at halftime.
The Lady Cats began their comeback in the third period, cutting the Sloan-Hendrix lead to 42-39 entering the fourth quarter. Walnut Ridge outscored the Lady Hounds 13-6 in the final period to claim the win.
Alivia Hackworth scored 18 points for Walnut Ridge. Jessica Rudd had 11 points and 10 rebounds, and Lacey Cobble added 10 points for the Lady Bobcats.
The Lady Cats improved to 5-3 in 2A-2 conference play and 9-8 overall.
Hannah Rowsey and Kristen Belcher had 11 points each for Sloan-Hendrix.
The Walnut Ridge senior boys defeated Sloan-Hendrix 73-46.
Chris Dickson led Walnut Ridge with 16 points. Brandon Dawson scored 13 points, and Derek Medlock added 10 for the Bobcats. Tyler Gillean led Sloan-Hendrix with 11 points.
Walnut Ridge improved to 3-6 in 2A-2 conference play and 5-10 overall.
Walnut Ridge defeated Sloan-Hendrix 43-31 in the junior girls game.
The Walnut Ridge Lady Bobcats edged Cotter 49-47 in senior girls basketball Tuesday night at Cotter.
Alivia Hackworth had 20 points to lead Walnut Ridge.
