Local players named All-NEANathan HibbardStaff Writer Five Lawrence County basketball players were named to the All-NEA Tournament team for their play in the NEA Basketball Tournament held in December at Jonesboro. Making the girls team in the 1A-2A-3A division were Breanna Doyle of Hillcrest, and Alivia Hackworth and Ashley Baker of Walnut Ridge. Doyle had 12 points in Hillcrest's opening win over Barton and scored a team-high 16 points in the Lady Eagle's second-round loss to Rector. Hackworth led Walnut Ridge with 19 points in the Lady Bobcats' opening-round win over McCrory and followed up with 13 points in Walnut Ridge's loss to Riverside. Baker scored 15 points against McCrory and was the Lady Cats' leading scorer against Riverside with 19 points. Hillcrest's Derek Wooten and Jordan Hunter were named to the boys All-Tournament team in the 1A-2A-3A division. The Hillcrest duo combined for 51 points in the Screamin' Eagles opening win over Manila, with Hunter scoring a game-high 26 points, and Wooten adding 25. Wooten rang up 29 points and Hunter added 18 in Hillcrest's 78-69 upset of second-seeded East Poinsett County. Wooten and Hunter each knocked down four three-pointers in the game, as the Eagles advanced to the quarterfinals. Wooten scored 14 points, and Hunter added 10 in Hillcrest's 72-62 quarterfinal loss to Buffalo Island Central.w
