Crum wins Miss AR preliminary

Hollyann Crum of Walnut Ridge was crowned Miss South Arkansas at the El Dorado Municipal Auditorium in El Dorado Saturday night. She was also awarded the overall interview, talent, evening gown and swimsuit awards and more than $1,500 in scholarships and prizes.

Crum will compete for the title of Miss Arkansas at the 2009 Miss Arkansas Pageant in Hot Springs July 15-18. She is the former Miss Northeast Arkansas and Miss Lights of the Delta.

At the 2007 Miss Arkansas Pageant, Crum received the prestigious Newcomer Award, and was a swimsuit preliminary winner at the 2007 and 2008 Miss Arkansas Pageants. Crum's critical issue is Empowering Women Through Girl Scouting.

Crum is a senior at Williams Baptist College and will graduate in December with a bachelor's degree in English and a communication arts minor. She is the 20-year-old daughter of John and Karen Crum and the granddaughter of Helen Rash and Virginia Crum, all of Walnut Ridge.
