Mustangs defeat Corning
The Hoxie Mustangs avenged their only loss of the season and remained perfect in 3A-3 conference play with an 81-74 victory over Corning in senior boys basketball Friday night at Hicks Gymnasium.
Hoxie's Nate Ragsdell (#1) goes up for a shot against Rivercrest on Dec. 9. The Mustangs won the game 77-75 to remain undefeated in the 3A-3 conference.

Hoxie led 15-14 after one quarter and extended their lead to 38-28 at halftime behind Morgan Puckett's 10 second-period points.
Corning, who defeated Hoxie in the semifinals of the WBC Tournament, came out strong after halftime and outscored the Mustangs 26-16 in the third quarter to tie the game 54-54 after three quarters. The teams played an even fourth period as regulation play ended with the score tied 69-69.
The Hillcrest Screamin' Eagles led Cave City 45-32 after three quarters and held off a fourth-quarter rally to defeat the Cavemen 55-51 in senior boys basketball Friday night at Lynn.
NEA tourney set
Teams from four Lawrence County schools will participate in the annual Northeast Arkansas Invitational Basketball Tournament, which begins Saturday at the ASU Convocation Center in Jonesboro.

Black Rock defeats Maynard
The Black Rock Zebras used a balanced scoring attack to defeat the Maynard Tigers 91-72 in senior boys basketball on Dec. 9 at Maynard.
Bobcats win one, lose one
Five Walnut Ridge players scored in double figures as the Bobcats defeated Ridgefield Christian 68-50 in senior boys basketball Friday night at Walnut Ridge.
Hoxie girls beat Manila
The Hoxie Lady Mustangs used a big second half to defeat Manila 56-44 in senior girls basketball Thursday night at Hoxie.
