Hoxie led 36-16 at halftime and 66-37 after three quarters. Hoxie was led by Morgan Puckett with 17 points. Nate Ragsdell recorded a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds. Beau Sisco finished with 10 points and pulled down seven rebounds. Joseph Richardson added 11 points, and Brad Harp scored nine points on three three-pointers. Hoxie improves to 2-0 overall and 2-0 in conference play. The Tuckerman junior high boys defeated Hoxie 52-41. Zach Crisler scored 10 points to lead the junior Mustangs, who fell to 1-1 on the season.
The Hoxie junior high boys won their season-opener at Brookland 59-35 on Nov. 25. The junior Mustangs jumped out to a 15-4 lead in the first quarter and led 27-17 at halftime. Zach Crisler scored a game-high 17 points and also had six assists and seven steals. Tyler Hall added seven points and five assists. Jacob Defries chipped in seven points and pulled down eight rebounds. Kenny Mashburn, Brody VanWinkle and Kyle Stafford each added four points. The Hoxie seventh-grade boys defeated Brookland 40-34 in their first game of the season. Hoxie led 10-7 after the first period and extended the lead to 24-13 at halftime, as Garrett Crisler hit four three-pointers in the second quarter to spark the Mustangs. Crisler finished with 15 points on five three-pointers. Dillon Cagle chipped in 10 points, and Slade Sullens had eight. Robert Vaughn had four points, while Jake Ellis added a bucket.
