BRHS HOMECOMING HELD ~ Zebra Tyler Roby grabs one of his 11 rebounds during Black Rock's game against Rector on Friday night. Les Foster led the Zebras with 23 points, and Joe Paul Carey added 13. Black Rock's senior boys lost 69-60, and the junior boys fell 53-34. The evening also included the presentation of the homecoming court. Additional photos can be seen at www.lawrencecounty.biz.

WBC title

The Riverside Rebels defeated the Corning Bobcats 53-43 to claim the championship of the Williams Baptist College Tournament Saturday night at the Southerland-Mabee Center on the WBC campus.

The Southside Lady Southerners claimed their second consecutive Williams Baptist College Basketball Tournament title with a 57-45 victory over the Pocahontas Lady Redskins Saturday night.

The Walnut Ridge Bobcats earned their first 2A-2 conference victory of the season with a 62-48 win over Sloan-Hendrix in senior boys basketball on Dec. 2 at Imboden.

Mustangs beat Tuckerman

The Hoxie Mustangs raced out to an 18-4 first-quarter lead against Tuckerman and went on to defeat the Bulldogs 83-53 in senior boys basketball on Dec. 2 at Hicks Gymnasium.

Cats named All-Conference

Eight Walnut Ridge Bobcat football players have received postseason honors following the 2008 season. Five Bobcats were named to the 2A-2 All-Conference team, while three others earned honorable mention recognition.
