WR teams split with Midland

The Walnut Ridge Lady Bobcats defeated Midland's Lady Mustangs 61-54 in overtime to earn their third victory of the season Nov. 25 at Pleasant Plains.

Walnut Ridge trailed 43-35 after three quarters, but rallied in the final period to tie the game 49-49 at the end of regulation play. The Lady Cats outscored their hosts 12-5 in the extra session to claim the win in the 2A-3 conference opener.

Walnut Ridge was led by Ashley Baker with 22 points and Alivia Hackworth with 14.

Midland won the junior girls contest 41-37.

The Walnut Ridge senior boys fell to Midland 66-56.

Midland led 18-11 after one quarter, 34-18 at halftime and 43-31 at the end of the third period.

The Bobcats were led by Bennett Dudley with 19 points. Wesley Davis and Brandon Dawson scored 11 points each. Derek Medlock recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
