County teams face
off in tourney

The 49th Annual Williams Baptist College Tournament tipped off Saturday at the Southerland-Mabee Center on the WBC campus. Four games were played in the girls bracket.
Hoxie ~ BR girls
The eighth-seeded Hoxie Lady Mustangs advanced with a 65-53 win over Black Rock.
The game was tied 14-14 at the end of the first quarter. Hoxie edged in front 30-28 at halftime and led 44-40 after three periods.
The Lady Mustangs pulled away in the fourth quarter, outscoring Black Rock 21-13 in the final period to earn the win.
Hoxie was led by Tanya Sisco with 22 points, and Kelsey Lewis with 15.
Teri Aden scored 16 points to lead Black Rock. Hailey Slusser and Holly Beasley each scored eight points, and Amy Galbreath added seven for the Lady Zebras.

for O-D Bowl
Derek Johnson, a senior offensive and defensive lineman for the Hoxie Mustangs football team, has been selected to participate in the O-D All-American Bowl, to be played on the campus of Coastal Carolina University in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
