Lady Mustangs beat Harrisburg

The Hoxie Lady Mustangs opened the new basketball season with a 51-40 conference win over the Harrisburg Lady Hornets Nov. 17 at Hicks Gymnasium.

The game was close throughout, with the teams being tied 10-10 at the end of the first quarter and 21-21 at halftime. Hoxie carried a 32-28 lead into the final period and held off the Lady Hornets for the win.

Kelce Misner scored 15 points, while Brooke French and Tanya Sisco each had 13 to lead the Lady Mustangs.

Harrisburg won the junior girls game 24-19.
