Lady Cats post wins
Staff Writer The Walnut Ridge Lady Bobcats improved to 2-2 on the season with a 66-45 victory over Crowley's Ridge Academy Friday night at Sharum Gymnasium. Chelsey Linebaugh led Walnut Ridge with 25 points, including seven-of-eight three-pointers. Ashley Baker scored 20 points for the Lady Cats, and Carrie Massey scored six. Alivia Hackworth had four points, and Jessica Rudd added three. Katie Lewis had 17 points to lead the Walnut Ridge junior high girls to a 48-32 win over CRA. Daniel Vaughn added eight points and had five rebounds. Ashlyn Cothern had seven points, and Holly Looney added four. Ashley Roacho scored four points and had three steals. The junior Lady Cats improved to 5-1 on the season.
The Walnut Ridge junior girls defeated Cedar Ridge 36-21 on Thursday night. Cothern and Vaughn had nine points apiece to lead all scorers. Lewis had eight points and seven rebounds. Roacho added five points, and Audrey McElrath had four. Anna Bland and Hannah Massey each scored seven points to lead the Walnut Ridge seventh-grade girls to a 20-18 win over Cedar Ridge. Caroline Kelley had four points, and Jody Reithemeyer added two.
The senior Lady Cats routed Twin Rivers 55-28 Nov. 18 at Williford. For Walnut Ridge, Baker and Hackworth each scored 13 points, and Linebaugh added nine. Massey had seven points, eight rebounds and four steals. Walnut Ridge won the junior high game 41-15. Lewis and Vaughn had 14 apiece to lead all scorers. Lewis also had nine rebounds and three blocks. Roacho had five points and four assists.
The Walnut Ridge seventh graders traveled to Maynard Saturday and recorded a 43-15 win. Kelly had 12 points to lead all scorers. Bland had 10 points. Massey and Reithemeyer had six points apiece. Sabrina Knight and Natasha Doane each had four points.
