WBC Tourney begins SaturdayThe 49th annual Williams Baptist College Invitational gets underway Saturday at WBC's Southerland-Mabee Center. The tournament will run for the following week, with championship games scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 6.A total of 13 boys teams and 12 girls teams will be vying for the championship. The boys and girls squads from Southside High School are the top seeds in both brackets. Saturday's schedule, with seedings in parentheses, includes: 10 a.m. - Girls: Corning (7) vs. Maynard (10) 11:20 a.m. - Boys: Viola (8) vs. Riverside (9) 12:40 p.m. - Girls: Hoxie (8) vs. Black Rock (9) 2 p.m. - Boys: Marmaduke (6) vs. Maynard (11) 3:20 p.m. - Girls: Tuckerman (5) vs. Sloan-Hendrix (12) 4:40 p.m. - Boys: Pocahontas (4) vs. Sloan-Hendrix (13) 6 p.m. - Girls: Hillcrest (6) vs. Walnut Ridge (11) 7:20 p.m. - Boys: Hillcrest (7) vs. Walnut Ridge (10)
