Mustang football season ends
Hoxie threatened to get on the scoreboard first. After stopping the Warriors' opening drive, the Mustangs drove to the Lamar six-yard line before being stopped on a fourth-down at the three.
The game remained scoreless until Lamar's Mark Pearson scored on a four-yard run with 3:39 to play in the second quarter. The extra-point was no good and the Warriors carried a 6-0 lead into the locker room at halftime.
WBC Tourney begins SaturdayThe 49th annual Williams Baptist College Invitational gets underway Saturday at WBC's Southerland-Mabee Center. The tournament will run for the following week, with championship games scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 6.
Lady Cats post winsThe Walnut Ridge Lady Bobcats improved to 2-2 on the season with a 66-45 victory over Crowley's Ridge Academy Friday night at Sharum Gymnasium.
The Walnut Ridge senior boys earned their first win of the basketball season with a 61-31 rout of Twin Rivers Nov. 18 at Williford.
