Mustang football season ends
Hoxie threatened to get on the scoreboard first. After stopping the Warriors' opening drive, the Mustangs drove to the Lamar six-yard line before being stopped on a fourth-down at the three.
The game remained scoreless until Lamar's Mark Pearson scored on a four-yard run with 3:39 to play in the second quarter. The extra-point was no good and the Warriors carried a 6-0 lead into the locker room at halftime.
