Ayden George Binkley

David and Jennifer Binkley of Jonesboro announce the birth of their first child, a son, born Nov. 13, 2008, at St. Bernards in Jonesboro. The baby weighed nine pounds, 11 ounces and has been named Ayden George Binkley.

Grandparents are George Bruton of Walnut Ridge, Gail Sharp of Bono and Miles Binkley of Ironton, Mo.

Great-grandparents are Jim and Irene Binkley of Ravenden and Martha Gibson of Hoxie.

Braxton Wayne Broadway

Jason and Alyssa Broadway of Newark have announced the birth of a son, born Nov. 21, 2008, at White River Medical Center in Batesville.

The baby weighed seven pounds, five ounces, and has been named Braxton Wayne Broadway.

He has two sisters, Bentleigh, 10, and Kailseigh, nine, and two brothers, Corbin, five, and Parker, 18 months.

Grandparents are Finis and Rita Barnes of Newark, Steve and Melissa Bristow of Lynn and Mike Broadway of Pocahontas.

Kathalene Vaughan of Lynn and Ann Broadway of Pocahontas are the great-grandparents.

Emma Rose Debow

Christine Debow of Walnut Ridge has announced the birth of a daughter, born Oct. 29, 2008, at Harris Hospital in Newport.

The baby weighed eight pounds, two ounces, and has been named Emma Rose Debow.

She has a three-year-old sister, Ty Cook.

Grandparents are Sandra Debow of Jonesboro and Stanley Debow of Sedgwick.

Leona Debow of Sedgwick and Stella Riggs of Hoxie are the great-grandmothers.

Sydney Claire Noblin

Curtis and Meagan Noblin of Hoxie have announced the birth of their first child, a daughter, born Nov. 12, 2008, at Harris Hospital in Newport.

The baby weighed eight pounds, 14 ounces, and has been named Sydney Claire Noblin.

Grandparents are Bruce and Ronda O'Connor and Rodger and Belinda Noblin, all of Hoxie.

Peggy McCluskey and Harvey and Ann Noblin, all of Hoxie, and Ron and Barbara Brown of Minturn are the great-grandparents.

Stella Rose Spades

Joe and Megan Spades of Jonesboro have announced the birth of a daugher born Nov. 21, 2008, at St. Bernards in Jonesboro.

The baby weighed seven pounds, six ounces, and has been named Stella Rose Spades.

She has a six-year-old sister, Gracie, and a three-year-old brother, Holt.

Grandparents are Seb and Rose Spades of Walnut Ridge and Mike and Connie Lally of McGee.

Jackson Charles Tacker

Jeff and Shannon Tacker of Southhaven, Miss., have announced the birth of a son, born Nov. 4, 2008.

The baby weighed five pounds, nine ounces, and has been named Jackson Charles Tacker.

Grandparents are Seb and Rose Spades of Walnut Ridge and Ray and Linda Danforth of Olive Branch, Miss.

The baby has a nine-year-old brother, Will, and a two-year-old sister, Sophie.

Wynne ~ Wayne

Wes and Lee Wynne of Aledo, Texas, announce the engagement of their daughter, Ashlea Christine Wynne of Fort Worth to Jason Michael Wayne, also of Fort Worth, son of Kelly Durham of Imboden and Michael Wayne of Kilgore, Texas.

The couple will exchange vows at 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 31, 2009, at University Christian Church in Fort Worth.

Obituaries

Charles Lee Brewington

Charles Lee Brewington, 62, of Texarkana, Texas, died Nov. 5, 2008, at Wadley Medical Center in Texarkana.

He lived most of his life in Lawrence County before moving to Texarkana five years ago.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Shan Derk Brewington and Charles Brewington Jr.; and his parents, John and Virgie Manning Brewington.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Ervin Brewington; four daughters, Terri Rousch, Hoxie, Tammy Raenae Harlan, Pocahontas, and Ashley Victoria Leann Jones and Michelle Williams, both of Walnut Ridge; two stepdaughters, Gina Luther, Texarkana, and Crystal Brower, Strawberry; two sisters, Diana Kisling, Pocahontas, and Shirley Gates, Walnut Ridge; and several grandchildren.

The body was cremated.

A memorial service was held Thursday at 1 p.m. at New Life Cathedral Church in Walnut Ridge with Rick Anglin officiating. House-Gregg Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Lehman Chesser

Lehman Chesser, 75, of Maynard, formerly of Walnut Ridge, died Nov. 18, 2008, at Westwood Hill Nursing and Rehab in Poplar Bluff, Mo.

He was a farmer and a mechanic for Baltz Implement in Pocahontas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Ada Chesser; a brother, Raymond Chesser; and three sisters, Ina Tribble, Hazel Surles and Louise Smith.

Survivors include his wife, Ann Chesser; two sons, Scott Chesser, Brookland, and Greg Chesser, Pocahontas; three brothers, Gene Chesser, Stokes, Dean Chesser, California, and Rick Chesser, Maynard; two sisters, Linda Chesser and Maggie Wall, both of Walnut Ridge; and six grandchildren, A.J. Chesser, Tyler Chesser, Corey Chesser, Megan Risenhoover, Aaron Kirby and Hunter Ashcraft.

Funeral was Friday at 10 a.m. at Cox-Waymon Funeral Home in Pocahontas with Bro. Gary Moore officiating. Burial was in Chesser Cemetery near Pocahontas.

Rickie Alan Deal

Rickie Alan Deal, 54, of Portia, died Nov. 22, 2008, at his home.

Born in Manila, he moved to Portia 23 years ago. He worked at Lawrence County Cooperative School as a bus driver and tearcher's aid. He was of the Baptist belief.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Deal; and his grandparents, Audie and Grace Durham, and Dave and Irba Deal.

Survivors include his wife, Sarita Trawick Deal; a stepson, Jerry Lane, Portia; his mother, Verdell Durham Deal, Festus, Mo.; a sister, Jane Bodkin and husband Bill, Imperial, Mo.; two grandchildren, Connie Lane and Carmen Lane; a niece, Jaclyn Bodkin; and a nephew, Ryan Bodkin.

Funeral was scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 25, at 2 p.m. at House-Gregg Funeral Home with Derek Collins officiating. Burial was to be in Old Lebanon Cemetery near Lynn.

Pallbearers will be Edward Durham, Mitch Bell, John Trawick, Gene Privett, Jerell Belew and Ryan Bodkin. Honorary pallbearers will be Alex Latham and Robert Shelton.

Visitation is set for Tuesday from noon until time of the service at the funeral home.

Pauline Grisham Lewis, 82, of Greenbrier, died Nov. 23, 2008. Funeral was scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 25, at 11 a.m. at North Little Rock Funeral Home. Burial was to be in Liberty Cemetery at Benton. An online guestbook is available at www.nlrfh.com.

Lonnie McElrath

Lonnie McElrath, 68, of Shawnee, Okla., formerly of Lawrence County, died Nov. 20, 2008, in Shawnee.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Hazel McElrath, who lived near Minturn.

Survivors include siblings Marlene Chronister, Newport, Jerry McElrath, Walnut Ridge, and Wayne McElrath, Little Rock.

Graveside service was Tuesday, Nov. 25, at 2 p.m. at Resthaven Memorial Park in Shawnee.

Zohar Bobby Dean Pruitt

Zohar Bobby Dean Pruitt, 46, of Paragould, died Nov. 18, 2008, at Arkansas Methodist Hospital in Paragould.

Born in Rockford, Ill., he lived in Paragould 15 years. He was a licensed practical nurse for Mid-South Health Systems in Jonesboro and was a member of the Temple Israel in Jonesboro.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clyde Robert Pruitt.

Survivors include John Walls; two sons, Jordan Dean Pruitt, Paragould, and Nehemiah David Pruitt, Rockford, Ill.; a daughter, Heaven Pruitt, Rockford; his mother and stepfather, Eugene and Eudean Rogers, Walnut Ridge; three brothers, Clyde Pruitt, Jonesboro, Scott Pruitt, O'Kean, and Billy Pruitt, Paragould; and a sister, Deborah Perkins, Loves Park, Ill.

Graveside service was Wednesday, Nov. 19, at Temple Israel Cemetery with Rabbi David Levenbach officiating. Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro had charge of arrangements.

T.L. Reese

T.L. "Speedy" Reese, 85, of Black Rock, died Nov. 21, 2008, at his home.

Born Feb. 6, 1923, at Hazen, he was the son of Sherman and Lillie Parr Reese. A World War II Army veteran, he was an automotive mechanic and was of the Baptist belief.

He was preceded in death by four sisters and a brother.

Survivors include his wife, Maxine Lawrey Reese, whom he married June 7, 1942; two sons, Eddie Reese and wife Christine, Jonesboro, and Dale Reese and wife Reba, Turrell; a daughter, Bobbie Berry and husband Chips, Walnut Ridge; six grandchildren, Larry Dale Mosher, Jeff Reese, Michelle Boots, Jason Reese, Justin Reese and Leslie Rutledge; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral was Monday at 2 p.m. in Bryan Chapel with Bro. Ronnie Carson officiating. Burial was in Oak Forest Cemetery under the direction of Bryan Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Larry Dale Mosher, Jeff Reese, Jason Reese, Justin Reese, Josh Mosher and Joe Rutledge.

Donald Richard Robinson Sr.

Donald Richard Robinson Sr., 69, of Houma, La., father of Mary Richey of Powhatan, died Nov. 19, 2008. Burial was Saturday in the Garden of Memories Cemetery under the direction of Chauvin Funeral Home.

Randall Tate

Randall Tate, 59, of Imboden, died Nov. 16, 2008, at his home, following a lengthy illness.

Born Oct. 24, 1949, at Pocahontas, he was a Vietnam War veteran and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Black Rock. He was a member of NSRA and was a past worshipful master of the Ravenden Masonic Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his father, Chester Tate; his stepfather, Luther Eaton; his father-in-law, Henry VanWinkle; and his grandparents, Miller and Jenny Tate, and Harvey and Luella Oldham.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy VanWinkle Tate, whom he married June 22, 1973, at Imboden; his daughter, Kellie Tate Briner, Imboden; his mother, Fern Eaton, Black Rock; a sister, Marsha Tate, Jonesboro; and a granddaughter, Kaitlin Tate Briner.

Funeral was Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Higginbotham Chapel with Pat Hovis officiating. Burial was in Oak Forest Cemetery at Black Rock under the direction of Higginbotham Funeral Service.

Ida Mae Woodard

Ida Mae Woodard, 74, of Walnut Ridge, died Nov. 19, 2008, at her home.

She had lived in Walnut Ridge the past eight years after moving from Jonesboro. She was retired from Crane and was of the Baptist belief.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Leona Files Williams; and two brothers, Jay B. Williams and Johnny Williams.

Survivors include three daughters, Venecia Guntharp, Jonesboro, Kathy Nicholas, Black Rock, and Marilyn Wood, Walnut Ridge; a son, Terry Woodard, Black Rock; four sisters, Lula Bea Stewart, Little Grassy, Mo., Velma Lee Stewart, Troy, Ill., Lavern Kackley, Marble Hill, Mo., and Aileen Day, Columbia, Tenn.; a brother, Russell Williams, Saint Ann, Mo.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Graveside service was Friday at 2 p.m. at Lawrence Memorial Park with Rodger Brand officiating. House-Gregg Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Chris Smith, Terry Trinidad, John Lytle, Brian Ivy, Jack Ivy and Lynn Hensley. Honorary pallbearer was Josh Brand.
