Jr. Mustangs end
The Hoxie Mustangs completed an undefeated junior high football season with a dominating 36-0 win over Harrisburg Thursday night at Crider Field.
The junior Mustangs, who had clinched the 3A-3 conference championship a week earlier, were in command of the game from the outset. Hoxie scored four first-half touchdowns, three by Sebastian Irvin, and took a 28-0 halftime lead.
The Mustangs took the second-half kickoff and marched down the field for their final touchdown and two-point conversion, bringing the "mercy rule" into effect for the remainder of the game.
Hoxie's defense stifled Harrisburg for the entire game, allowing the Hornet's only 66 yards of total offense.
Irvin finished with 126 yards rushing on just 11 carries. Tim James ran for 87 yards and a touchdown on six carries. Zach Crisler also had a scoring run for the Mustangs.
