The Hoxie Mustangs got points from a variety of sources as the Mustangs routed Cave City 46-10 Friday night in 3A-3 conference play.

The win, coupled with Earle's loss to Harrisburg, gave the Mustangs sole possession of second place in the conference with an 8-1 league record and sets the stage for this Thursday's showdown with the undefeated Hornets at Harrisburg. A win over Harrisburg would give the Mustangs a share of the conference title and the conference's top playoff seed.

"Our goal all year has been to win the conference championship and it's great that we will have that opportunity Thursday," said the Mustangs' head coach Tom Sears.
