LawCo. election results announced

Lawrence County voters decided several races during Tuesday's General Election, according to unofficial results released by Lawrence County Clerk Tina Stowers.
Lawrence County experienced a 57 percent voter turnout, with 2,173 of the 5,960 ballots being cast in early and absentee voting.
Democrat Craig Stone, incumbent justice of the peace for District 9, was re-elected defeating his Republican challenger, Lloyd Clark, by a vote of 345 (59%) to 242 (41%).

Golf club granted a continuance
The Walnut Ridge Golf Club was granted a continuance in their lawsuit against the City of Walnut Ridge and the Walnut Ridge Regional Airport at a hearing on Oct. 29 before Judge Harold Ervin. The three entities were to appear in court on Nov. 10 to decide their dispute over the golf club's close proximity to the airport, causing the airport to be out of compliance with FAA safety zones.
